Preserving Value Through Retrofit and Adaptive Reuse

Wiratman is committed to extending the lifespan of buildings through retrofit, adaptive reuse, and comprehensive structural evaluation. These approaches offer strategic solutions to address aging buildings in terms of safety, cost-efficiency, and sustainability.

We conduct structural assessments using non-destructive testing methods such as rebar detection, Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV), and hammer tests to evaluate the actual condition of structural elements without causing damage. The results inform targeted retrofitting strategies, structural upgrades, or adaptive reuse planning based on current standards.

In adaptive reuse projects, existing buildings are repurposed into offices, commercial spaces, or public facilities while preserving their structural core. This approach reduces material waste, conserves embodied energy, and offers a more sustainable alternative to demolition.

One notable example is our involvement in the Mandiri Heritage Restoration Building in Kalibesar, Jakarta. In this project, Wiratman provided technical solutions that respected the building’s architectural character while ensuring modern structural integrity and safety.

Through multidisciplinary technical expertise, Wiratman ensures that retrofitting an old building could optimize its function to fulfill today’s needs safely, efficiently, and responsibly.
